Living Under Open Heaven: Obedience, Blessings, and Breaking Curses

"And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth."
Deuteronomy 28:1 (KJV)
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you."
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)

Obedience is the key for you to be on top of every circumstance in your life. The Lord says if you diligently obey and do everything God has asked you to do carefully, He will lift you high above every nation. All these blessings shall come for you and overtake you. What is the key? If you obey the voice of the Lord your God. Let’s discover the power of obeying God’s instruction together.

The Nature of Open Heaven

Living in an open heaven is all about understanding how to obey God’s instruction. It’s not important what your situation is or what economic situation you’re in. God’s economy is of heaven and not like the earth. There’s no inflation; the director of the IMF has no say. The only King who has a say is Jesus. And He says in His name, and only if you obey His instruction, He will set you high above all nations. He will make His blessings chase you and overtake you.

Having an open heaven means feeling the Father’s love and goodness on you. You can be in the valley or captivity, BUT highly blessed and favored. The key is to listen to His voice and obey Him. Living in an open heaven is a season where you stay in His presence. Jesus opens the heaven for us, His children. Now we can boldly seek and stand in God’s presence. You don’t live in fear anymore because the fear of the Lord destroys the fear of other things.

Jesus lives in us, and He will take care of us. We need to return back to revere God. He is not a remote control that you can turn off and on when you want. We need to come back sincerely to Him, and we need to be responsible for this temple (us). Before committing sin, remember that Jesus has already given you the power to overcome temptation. The devil wants to put a barrier between you and God because God is Holy, and to access His presence, you need to live holy and obey Him. But Jesus has already given us the key to overcome temptations.

Fearless in His Presence

"The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way and flee before thee seven ways."
Deuteronomy 28: 7 (KJV)

If you obey the Lord, you live in His presence, and any plan against your life and health, will be scattered. He is our refuge, we stay and hide in His presence. He is our shield and our stronghold.

“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

Psalm 27:1 (KJV)

We should fear nothing, God is on our side, God is for us.

We have westernized everything—faith, fasting, prayer, church, Christianity, and so on. Nowadays, we have people with PhDs in prayers, but inside they’re dead. Our generation loves to be in the shallow. But it’s time for us to speak to our flesh and say, “No longer will you take control” and refuse temptation, live rightly in the spirit.

Access Open Heaven Through Obedience

"The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto, and he shall bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee."

Deuteronomy 28: 8 (KJV)
"The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow."
Deuteronomy 28: 12 (KJV)
"And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them."
Deuteronomy 28: 13 (KJV)

This is your season of open heaven. Walk in righteousness and see the rain of God fall in your life. Whatever you do for the Glory of God shall be blessed. You will be a blessing for many.

I am (Pastor Lawrence Ihekweme) a testimony of God’s freedom. In my family, no one lives after 50 years old. I am 51, and I am healthy. My family was cursed; my relatives who are doctors, lawyers, professors, are all dead, buried in the ground before 50. Unfortunately, they didn’t discover what I have discovered. I discovered that Jesus’ blood works today. I live because of Him. His blood gives me strength day to day; His blood will never lose power.

You have been raised up and delivered by God, in your family, to break every curse in your bloodline. You are a curse breaker. With Him, you are a curse breaker. Any curse in your life is broken. What is the key? Listen to the instruction of the Lord. And not only listen, but we must obey. That’s the problem with the church today; we often listen, but we don’t obey.

Our church failed during COVID. We succumbed to fear. We don’t really believe that Jesus and the blood of Jesus will overcome anything. We closed our church and went into hiding. We even made it mandatory for people to get vaccinated first before entering the church when not all people can get the vaccine.

When there was an Ebola outbreak in 2013, the church prayed. Fire consumed Ebola. WHO predicted over 30 million people would have died of Ebola. But in the end, there were only 3,000 casualties. Why? Because the church stood up and prayed. They set up a tent and prayed over the sick to be healed. And it is done according to their faith. Praise the Lord.

God Rewards Your Obedience With Wonders

The Lord says He will show wonders. It is a season for you to begin to see the wonders of God. You need to stand up against anxiety and depression. You have overcome it through the blood of Jesus Christ. You need to stay in the presence of the Lord. The Bible said we are too in a hurry to leave the presence of the Lord, and when we encounter a problem, we come back to Him. It’s time for us to obey; we need to live in His presence. There’s no place for disobedience. It’s time to know that when we obey, He will reward us. He is not a liar; He will do what He promised to do. We should enjoy His presence.

"Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil. And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.
And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.
And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit."
Joel 2:23 – 29 (KJV)

The Temple of God

Living under an open heaven means allowing the temple of God to be a place of open communication between the divine and the natural. Jesus said, “My house shall be called the house of prayer, but you have made it a dwelling of thieves.” Who are the thieves occupying His house? That body that God has given you, don’t allow the thieves to rule over it. Those thieves could be unforgiveness, destruction, disappointment, or sickness. Don’t allow the thieves to rule. Today, Jesus gave you the power to overcome. Remember Jesus went to the temple and overturned the tables, and you shall do the same in Jesus’ name.
